We understand that exclusions can be frustrating, especially for paid customers, therefore, we want to provide you with as much information as possible regarding exclusions. This page aims to outline some potential reasons for exclusions, the appeal process and answer some common questions. For additional support, email us here.

Why was I excluded?

We take all exclusion decisions very seriously. Common reasons for exclusions may include:

  • Misuse: Using Boomerang in a way that violates our Terms of Service.
  • Underage: Accessing the service while under the minimum age of 13.
  • Impersonation: Assuming the identity of the service or someone you are not.
  • Misinformation: Spreading misinformation about our service or other users.

How do I appeal my exclusion?

If you believe your exclusion was unjust or in error, you can submit an appeal by emailing us. Emails are checked every 2 weeks. Please allow ample time for a response and ensure your email includes the following information:

  • The Discord Username and Account ID (Discord User ID) for the account excluded from accessing Boomerang
  • A detailed explanation of why you believe the exclusion was unjust or a misunderstanding
  • Any supporting evidence that substantiates your claim

All appeals are discussed and reviewed by our Core Team & Management. In most cases, exclusions are only revoked in error. We typically do not revoke exclusions on the promise of “I won’t do it again” or “It’s been X months.”

Do I get a refund if I bought the bot?

In most cases, no. When you purchased Boomerang, you agreed to abide by our Terms of Service, which includes the provision that we reserve the right to revoke your access to the service at any time for any reason. Therefore, refunds are generally not provided for exclusions. Refrain from contacting us requesting a refund if you are excluded.

How long do exclusions last?

Exclusions are typically permanent; however, this can vary based on the severity of the violation and the circumstances surrounding it. In some rare cases, exclusions may only be temporary.

How do I know if my appeal was successful?

If your exclusion appeal was successful, you will be contacted in the form of a reply to your initial appeal email. Otherwise, if your appeal is denied, you will not be contacted. If you are not contacted within 2–3 weeks of your appeal, you should also consider your appeal denied. Please note that pestering our staff to review appeals will lower the chances of your appeal being accepted.

How do I report a user for an exclusion?

We will only accept reports from the community for users violating our Terms of Service. Violations of your community’s specific rules (e.g., use of inappropriate language) are not a reason for us to exclude a user from our entire service. If you have a valid report, you can send a direct message to our ModMail bot.
